A summer lunch outing is always better when it combines flavor, quality, and atmosphere. We visited Wagamama at Golden Hall, one of the city’s most beloved Asian destinations, for a midday meal full of color, texture, and bold Eastern-inspired tastes.
The experience began with sushi – specifically two of the restaurant’s latest creations: the Dragon Roll and Tiger Roll. The Dragon Roll featured crispy panko shrimp paired beautifully with cucumber, avocado, kimchee mayo, and sweet teriyaki glaze, topped with mixed sesame seeds and tartar sauce for added crunch and aromatic intensity. The Tiger Roll with breaded shrimp, avocado, red tobiko, spicy kimchee mayo, and a touch of sweet teriyaki sauce – a bold, vibrant combination that truly stood out.
Next came the Thai Beef Salad: tender beef pieces with mixed greens, edamame, fresh and crispy onion, mangetout, beetroot, radish, and Asian slaw, all brought together with a fragrant Thai dressing and tangy yuzu sauce. Refreshing, light, yet fully satisfying – the perfect dish for a summer day.
The surprise highlight, however, was the new Coconut Kare Chicken: marinated chicken thigh with roasted sweet pumpkin, broccoli, green beans, baby spinach, red bell pepper, and Asian slaw served over kare lomen noodles, all wrapped in a velvety coconut sauce that added exotic warmth and perfect balance to the dish.
The lunch was complemented in the most summery way – with one refreshing strawberry lemonade and one passion fruit lemonade, bringing fruity freshness and a sweet finish to a vibrant meal.
Wagamama at Golden Hall proves once again that a summer lunch can become a journey – with Asia as its destination and refined street food flavors leading the way. A cool, flavorful stop worth adding to your favorites list.
