Spitjack: A sophisticated comfort food experience

Κατά την πρόσφατη επίσκεψή μας στο εστιατόριο Spitjack, στο Golden Hall, είχαμε την ευκαιρία να εξερευνήσουμε μια γαστρονομική εμπειρία που συνδύαζε την απλότητα του comfort food με την επιμέλεια και την αισθητική της σύγχρονης κουζίνας.

We started with the Sweet Tomato Burrata Salad, a fresh and aromatic introduction to the meal. The burrata balanced perfectly with the sweet cherry tomatoes, fresh oregano and mint, while the capers and cucumber added acidity and crunchy texture. It was a summer explosion of flavours, with freshness and intensity.

In the appetizers, the creamy mushrooms - mushrooms cooked with goat cheese, lime and hazelnut - stood out. The creamy texture and slightly acidic taste from the lime “lifted” the dish, while the hazelnut provided an interesting, crunchy contrast. Next to them, the Corn on the Cob was a more “simple” but highly flavorful option: corn roasted with butter, honey and togarashi, a Japanese spice blend that added spicy intensity.

For the main course, we tried the Italian porchetta - slow-cooked pork with crispy skin and rich flavor. The meat was juicy, and the outer crust had the perfect “crackling”, as befits an authentic porcetta.

The overall experience at Spitjack was excellent: quality ingredients, modern executions and attentive service, in a space that combines urban aesthetics with a cozy atmosphere. A meal worth trying, perfect for lovers of creative comfort food.
